One of the world’s most famous archeological sites Petra was carved out of sandstone mountains thousands of years ago. The city, built by Nabateans, was once a key location along an important trade route in Asia. Over time, Petra was conquered, abandoned, destroyed by an earthquake, and then rediscovered and shared with the world in the 1800s.
Going for a 4X4 Jeep ride that takes you twisting and turning through the Wadi Rum is one of those unique experiences you. Wadi Rum is a protected desert wilderness in southern Jordan(720 sqft) and It features dramatic sandstone mountains & reddish sand which looks like Mars. Wadi Rum is a Hollywood favorite for films set on the red planet-Lawrence of Arabia, The Martians & more. Over 20,000 inscriptions have been documented inside Wadi Rum, tracing human existence back some 12,000 years in this spot. Clear night skies create an almost fairy-tale setting in Wadi Rum.
Bedouins are Arabic-speaking nomadic peoples of the Middle Eastern deserts, especially of North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula. One of those unique experiences are to visit a Bedouin camp and have lunch there.
In the Jordanian city of Madaba, in the church of St. George there is a mosaic map of the holy land. It is considered to be the oldest map in the world that has survived till our days
